I offer high quality unique and contemporary fabrics, along with several books, patterns and notions. I also have a variety of classes and clubs with fun and friendly teachers. You can check out some of the class descriptions and pictures along the menu on the left hand side. We're constantly updating the site so be sure to keep checking back, that is, if you've been able to withstand the temptation of coming in and checking out the shop for yourself! Pillowcase Challenge:
As many of you know, I have joined the American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge: Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Throughout the entire 2010 year I'll be collecting pillowcases to be donated locally to a charity of our choice, including shelters, nursing homes, children's hospitals, and more. The pillowcases you make will be used right here in our community, and we're accepting pillowcases for any age group. Runs with Scissors Quilt Shop and Golden Valley Quilt Guild Present The Possibilities of Christmas with Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith: You won't want to miss this wonderful opportunity! Luncheon, Program, and Trunk Show is on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Orangevale Community Center at 6826 Hazel Avenue, Orangevale. Tickets are only $35.00! Lynda and Nancy are also offering 2 fabulous quilt classes: The Christmas Pickle will be taught on Thursday, September 16, 2010 and the Barn Dance from the Positively Pineapple book will be taught on Friday, September 17, 2010. Both classes are from 10:00am-4:00pm and are $60.00.
Runs with Scissors 2nd Anniversary Sale! Can you believe it's already been 2 years? I sure can't! Time flies when you're having fun! To celebrate, I'm having a sale to show all of you just how much I've enjoyed these last 2 years, and I look forward to many more! The sale will run for the whole week, starting Monday, June 21 and ending on Saturday, June 26 and I'll be open my normal business hours. You'll receive 25% off your entire purchase for the whole week! BUT WAIT! It's a full moon on Saturday, and the Twilight "Eclipse" movie is coming out next week so I'll really be feeling the moon's pull that day (I'm Team Jacob, after all). So on Saturday you'll get 30% off your entire purchase, and I'll be open extra late - until 10:00pm! After that I have to go play with the wolves.
Times are tough right now so I've implemented some incentives for my customers. We'll call it the Runs with Scissors Stimulus Plan. First, everyone has a birthday, and although you might lie about how old you are to your friends, getting older is a good thing here! On the day of your birthday, come in to enjoy a discount of half your age! So, if you're turning 60 you'll get a 30% discount on your entire purchase! See, age does have its benefits! I.D. required for discount. If your birthday falls on a day that I am closed you may come in the next business day.
I also have Fabric Cards! Think of them as coffee cards for quilters. For each 10 yards of regularly-priced fabric you buy you'll get 1 yard free! Once your card is full it will get entered into a drawing to win a $25.00 gift certificate to my store. To make it even easier, I'll keep your cards on file for you so you won't ever have to worry about not having it with you.
And remember, you'll get a 20% discount for any supplies, patterns, or fabrics purchased for a class.
Sale Fabrics
If you haven't checked out my sale wall lately you are missing out! I have added new fabrics again, including all my beautiful Christmas prints and fun Halloween prints! A ton of children's prints and Asian designs have also been recently added! To make my sale wall even more sweet I've dropped the price of the fat quarters to only $1.00! All sale wall panels are only $4.50, and the yardage is still the same low price of only $5.99. Fabrics are added all the time so check back often!
