Runs With Scissors offers high quality unique and contemporary fabrics, along with several books, patterns and notions. We also have a variety of fun classes with friendly and knowledgeable teachers.

We're constantly updating the site so be sure to keep checking back, that is, if you've been able to withstand the temptation of coming in and checking out the shop for yourself!

CHRISTMAS STOCKING EVENT:

Mystery Block of the Month

Ask and you shall receive! We are offering our block of the month beginning in January. You can pick up block #1 after January 10, 2012 and the 10th of each month following. Even though its a mystery, I can tell you that it is made with batiks and we cut the block pieces out for you. The monthly block fee is $10. In addition, in December you can purchase fabric for borders, sashing and backing of your choice at 25% off.

COME PICK UP BLOCK #1 JANUARY 10TH OR AFTER! Don't panic though, there is still room for a few more people if you want to sign up. Just give us a call and get on the list. You're gonna love it!

Mystery Quilt Retreat

We are having a retreat here at Runs With Scissors. The quilt is a mystery but we will provide pattern hints to help you choose your fabric. The retreat is Saturday, February 4th 4:00-10:00pm and Sunday, February 5th 9:30-3:30pm. The fee is $100 and includes meals and snack for both days plus the pattern and instruction. You should be able to get top of the quilt completed during the retreat. Join us for some fun, great company and leave with a fabulous quilt. Oh and don't forget the goodies we will be giving away!

Store Incentives

Times are tough right now so I've implemented some incentives for my customers. We'll call it the Runs with Scissors Stimulus Plan.

First, everyone has a birthday, and although you might lie about how old you are to your friends, getting older is a good thing here! On the day of your birthday, come in to enjoy a discount of half your age! So, if you're turning 60 you'll get a 30% discount on your entire purchase! See, age does have its benefits! I.D. required for discount. If your birthday falls on a day that I am closed you may come in the next business day. This discount is on regularly priced merchandise. This is for your own personal use (not your friend's or guild's use, please). During a sale you will receive whichever discount is greater!!

Second, I have Fabric Cards! Think of them as coffee cards for quilters. For each 10 yards of regularly-priced fabric you buy you'll get 1 yard free! Once your card is full it will get entered into a drawing to win a $25.00 gift certificate to my store. To make it even easier, I'll keep your cards on file for you so you won't ever have to worry about not having it with you.

Thirdly, you'll get a 20% discount for any supplies, patterns, or fabrics purchased for a class you take here at the shop.

We will be happy to hold an item for you for up to 48 hours. If unpaid it will be returned to inventory. We can take phone orders with credit card payment. We ask that you pick up your orders as soon as possible due to limited space, or we can ship it to you.

We have Best Press Starch Alternative available for refills - bring in your empty bottle and I'll refill it for $5.00!

THE Pillowcase Challenge: RunsWithScissors Donations: 1378

as many of you know, I have joined the American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge: Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Throughout the entire 2011 year I'll be collecting pillowcases to be donated locally to a charity of our choice, including shelters, nursing homes, children's hospitals, and more. The pillowcases you make will be used right here in our community, and we're accepting pillowcases for any age group. Sale Fabrics

If you haven't checked out my sale wall lately you are missing out! I have added new fabrics again. To make my sale wall even more sweet I've dropped the price of the fat quarters to only $1.50! All sale wall panels are only $4.50, and the yardage is still the same low price of only $6.99. Fabrics are added all the time so check back often! Remember, this is all fabric that has moved off the floor to make room for new items. You might find some of your favorites there!
